Concrete Protection Liners (CPL) made of HDPE, PP, ECTFE and PVDF provide excellent protection of concrete structures from abrasion and corrosion. This product group offers a complete, premium quality selection of plastic liners that provide perfect protection for concrete. The main focus here is on protecting concrete against environmental influences and aggressive or abrasive media, in order to improve the service life of concrete works. The specially designed ULTRA-GRIP anchoring studs, which are embedded in the concrete, provide a superior mechanical connection between concrete and the liner.

Concrete protective liners are used wherever concrete structures are faced with rough external influences. The main applications for concrete protective liners are, in particular, in transportation and storage of liquids and where chemical resistance cannot be ignored.

and Provides the Required Safety

Effective protection for concrete is ensured by the combination of the benefits of special thermoplastic liners (flexible, ductile, no corrosion) with those of concrete (high strength, high stiffness). The concrete is effectively protected thus prolonging the building’s service life. Absolute mechanical anchoring and bridging of cracks in concrete, as well as excellent shear and impact strength and the durability of the liners for concrete protection are just a few of the many benefits.

Concrete protective liners are welded together thus creating permanent and reliable joints. Depending on the project requirements, heated element butt welding, extrusion and hot wedge welding are necessary for a reliable and leak tight weld, which additionally offers chemical resistance.

AGRU-Ultra Grip – For Handling Groundwater Pressure

By means of the newly developed Agru-Ultra Grip concrete protection liner, groundwater pressures of up to 1.75 bar (at 20°c) can now be permanently withstood. In large buildings, installation is even faster and cheaper because by using the sheets of 5m in width, which are also available from Agru, you can save up to 60% of the welds that would normally be necessary. For an extra-long service life, Agru-Ultra Grip also offers increased abrasion resistance.

AGRU-Ultra Grip – Use In Tunnels

In the case of large underground structures such as sewage tunnels and collectors, service life span is of utmost importance. AGRU-Ultra Grip is a widely proven solution here. Optimised installation techniques in conjunction with the large-format sheets of up to 5m in width offered by AGRU enable corrosion-resistant and leak-proof linings to be installed rapidly and for a reasonable cost. Channels of this type are built with an internal diameter of up to 6m and have a single or double-layer design.

Highest Pull-Out Strength

50% higher pull-out strength than conventional concrete protection slabs.

Resistant To Water Backpressure

Water backpressures of up to 1.75 bar are permanently withstood.

GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, will acquire a significant minority stake in a $733-million joint venture investment platform being set up with Phoenix Mills Limited (PML’s) to develop retail-led mixed use assets in India, the two companies announced. These assets, in Mumbai and Pune, totalling about 3.4 million sq.ft. of leasable retail and office space, are amongst PML’s well-performing operational properties, they said.

“The strategic partnership with GIC has taken shape at an opportune time, revalidating the long-term attractiveness of India’s resilient consumption story. It also underscores the fact that the current impact on pre-eminent brick and mortar retail is only transient,” said Shishir Shrivastava, Managing Director, Phoenix Mills. “We believe that the joint venture will generate resilient long-term returns.

Through this platform with GIC, “we intend to jointly explore value-accretive acquisition opportunities,” said Atul Ruia, Chairman, Phoenix Mills. “Proceeds will act as growth capital to both PML and its subsidiaries to explore and further enhance our portfolio of annuity income assets,” Ruia added.

‘Project Ghar’ has been launched by Kimberly-Clark India in partnership with the Plastics for Change India Foundation, an initiative to deliver sustainable housing facilities to on-ground waste collectors in India. A total of 30 tons of single-use and multi-layered plastic will be recycled over a period of six months, to construct 15 houses in the Hubli-Dharwad region in Karnataka, the company said in a release.

“Apart from directly reducing plastic waste, ‘Project Ghar’ is a step towards advancing the well-being of an underserved and underrepresented community. Once successful, the project will be extended to several other parts of the country as well,” it further added.

Kimberly-Clark, fulfilling its extended producer responsibility (EPR), plans to connect with stakeholders across the value chain – from waste collectors to recyclers and waste processors.

“In today’s rapidly evolving circular economy, it is critical to implement innovative solutions to improve our collective environment footprint. Our partnership with Plastics for Change India Foundation for Project Ghar is one such initiative, which presents us with a unique opportunity towards delivering on our global sustainability vision and also makes a real difference in communities where we operate,” said Mainak Dhar, Managing Director, Kimberly-Clark India.

Global EoI For Hydrogen Fuel Cell-Based Pilot Projects Floated By NTPC

Global EoI For Hydrogen Fuel Cell-Based Pilot Projects Floated By NTPC

NTPC Limited has floated a global Expression of Interest (EoI) to set up two pilot projects: a stand alone fuel cell-based backup power system and a standalone fuel cell-based microgrid system with hydrogen production using electrolyser at NTPC premises. Through the projects, NTPC is looking to further strengthen its position in green and clean fuel.

It has already started a trial for making methanol integrating carbon captured from power plant flue gas and hydrogen from electrolysis. It is now exploring the use of hydrogen based fuel cells-electrolysersystems for backup power requirement. NTPC is working towards creating solutions which are a green alternative to diesel generators.

Overall, NTPC’s focus is on hydrogen fuel cell buses in the transportation space; production of green methanol and green ammonia in the industrial space and green hydrogen micro grids in the power sector space.
