GMR Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL) has successfully priced an offering of USD 300 million bond in the international bond market.
GHIAL, a subsidiary of GMR Airports and a step-down subsidiary of GMR Infrastructure (GMR Group), entered into a purchase agreement to issue and allot
USD 300 million, 4.75 percent senior secured notes of five year tenure.
The proceeds from the notes will be used towards the capital expenditure for expansion of the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Hyderabad, Telangana to increase its capacity to 34 million passengers per annum.
RGIA was commissioned in 31 months and inaugurated on 14 March 2008, with an initial capacity of 12 million passengers per annum (MPPA) and 1,50,000 tonne of cargo handling capacity per annum.
The project has the flexibility to increase capacity and is currently being expanded to accommodate over 34 MPPA.

A consortium of VINCI and Meridiam has secured a public-private partnership (PPP) contract to build the D4 motorway linking Příbram (Central Bohemia) to Písek (South Bohemia).
The Czech Republic’s Ministry of Transport has awarded the CZK16.5bn ($754m) contract to the consortium, which is led by VINCI Highways. It is said to be the first PPP motorway contract awarded in the Czech Republic.
The scope of the contract will involve design, finance, construct, operate and maintain a new 32 km motorway and the conversion of 17 km of existing infrastructure into a dual two-lane carriageway.
It will be executed using a full building information modelling (BIM) approach, which is claimed to be the first in the country for a road construction project.

French rolling stock manufacturer Alstom has secured a contract to design, build and maintain the transportation system for Toulouse Metropole’s third metro line in France.
The contract worth more than €470m is for the third metro line of Toulouse Metropole and new 27 km-long metro line, called Toulouse Aerospace Express. The metro line includes 21 stations and will serve the aviation labour pool.
The order also includes Alstom’s “Systems” solutions including Metropolis trains and Urbalis 400 CBTC solution for driverless operation as well as Hesop reversible substations.
The scope of the contract includes platform screen doors, along with a dynamic system for load indication, and the track including the laying with the automated solution Appitrack.
The order also includes six years of maintenance along with an option for 12 years of maintenance.
