Brixton Group To Set Up Smart City In Kochi

The Dubai-based Brixton Group has proposed to set up India’s first industrial smart city in Kochi, Kerala, at an investment of Rs 1,200 crore.

The company expects to complete the project by 2023 and it will consist of five main sectors and 14 business divisions on 30 acre.

The industrial smart city will be the first of its kind where construction, engineering and home décor businesses will meet the best-in-class business functionalities, entertainment, infotainment through technology and create an integrated smart ecosystem never seen in the country.

The project, which will be coming up at Kalamassery, will generate over three lakh direct and indirect job opportunities across the country.

L&T, IHI Infrastructure Systems Bags Contract

The National High Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) has awarded contract for procurement and fabrication of 28 steel bridges (super structure) for crossing over railway lines, rivers, highways, road and other structures (P-4 Package) for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor. 

The contract worth Rs 1,390 crore has been awarded to Larson & Toubro (L&T)-IHI Infrastructure Systems (Consortium). This is a consortium of Indian and Japanese companies. 

 It is estimated that about 70,000 tonne of steel will be used for fabrication of these steel bridges, and Indian steel industries and their allied supply chains will get a big boost. 

 Indian steel manufactures will be providing quality steel for the fabrication of super structures for these steel bridges.

NHAI Floats Tender For Economic Corridor

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has floated tender for Delhi-Saharanpur-Dehradun economic corridor.

The scope of work involves development of six lane access control greenfield highway of Delhi-Saharanpur-Dehradun economic corridor from design ch 82.000 (Khyawari village) to design ch 119.068 (Latifpur village at Saharanpur bypass) in Uttar Pradesh on EPC mode under Bharatmala Pariyojana (Package-IV).

The work will be completed in 24 months at a cost of Rs 835.7 crore.

EPC Agreement Inked With NHAI

The Dilip Buildcon-Altis Holding Corporation (DBL-AHC JV) has executed an EPC agreement on 27 January 2021 with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for an EPC project in the state of Rajasthan. 

The project involves construction of eight-lane access-controlled expressway starting near junction with NH-12 near village Ummedpura to a major bridge over Takli river near Nayagaon Jageer village (ch 419.000 – 427.300) section of Delhi-Vadodara greenfield alignment (NH-148N) under Bharatmala Pariyojana in the state of Rajasthan on EPC mode (Package-15). 

The bid project cost is Rs 1,000.08 crore with completion period of 30 months.

Kerala Govt Completes 2.5 Lakh New Houses

The government in Kerala has announced completion of 2,50,547 new houses under the LIFE Mission, its flagship housing project that envisages total housing for all homeless in the state. 

The government has also plans to construct additional 1.5 lakh new houses in 2021 and is marching towards the goal of zero homeless Kerala.

The government is paying attention to the third phase of the ambitious initiative, and land has been identified for construction of 85 complexes at this time. Of this, the construction of five building complexes will be completed within two months.
