New Ammann Wheeled Paver In The Market
AFW 500 Is An Ideal Fit For Highway Projects

Ammann has unveiled a paver that relies on European technology and is well suited to customers who focus on larger road projects.

The Ammann AFW 500 Wheeled Asphalt Paver is available for most of Southeast Asia and South African market.

The machine features a standard paving width of 2.55 metres to 4.9 metres. It can work at widths up to 6.5 metres with the use of mechanical extensions.

The wheeled paver is effective at placing both binding courses and surface lifts. Its capacity and size make it an ideal fit for larger road projects, such as highway applications.

The pavers are powered by a highly efficient 119kW Cummins engine. The four-cylinder engine is liquid-cooled and meets all Tier 3 emissions standards.

Operation is kept simple with the help of an advanced dashboard and screed control panel created specifically for the AFW 500. The panel is simple to understand, and operators appreciate touches such as illuminated buttons that provide optimal visibility when working at night. Integrated lighting also enhances visibility during nightshifts.

The control unit is comprised of multiple individual parts, which facilitate cost-effective replacement.

A central 5-inch colour display provides the operator with key information regarding the ongoing paving process. The display also enables simple troubleshooting tips and alerts the operator onmaintenance needs.

The paver design, sliding seat and dashboard improve visibility during all phases of the paving process.

A levelling system of the customer’s choice can be connected to the control unit. The installation plug is pre-mounted and allows for quick connection to the levelling sensors and controls.

A lower discharge height reduces material spillage that can lead to mat defects. The hopper height also matches trucks of varied sizes, increasing fleet utilisation and making it easier to find outside haulers with appropriately sized vehicles.

Material is transported by two independent, reversible chain belt conveyors controlled by paddle micro switches. Two proportional ultrasonic controls optimise material distribution by regulating flow to the screed. An optimised auger ensures uniform material distribution, even at wide paving widths.

A small auger drive gearbox prevents segregation and cooling of material beneath the drive. Standard e-hydraulic auger height adjustment reduces the risk of segregation and ensures sufficient material beneath the gearbox.

An e-hydraulic device unloads the weight of the screed, thereby enabling an increase in paving depth. This Improves traction by transferring the weight of the screed to the wheels. The raised screed position is maintained when the machine is on standby mode.

A user-friendly screed control box enables the operator to stay in control and clear layout for easy operation.

Hamm | HC Series: Advanced Engine Technology And Best Compaction For Earthworks

Hamm | HC Series: Advanced Engine Technology
And Best Compaction For Earthworks

Since August 2021, Hamm has supplied new compactor models from the HC series to the Indian market. The machines, weighing 11t, are available with or without a drum drive. All machines fulfil the requirements of the CEV Stage IV. At 90 kW (121 HP), they bring plenty of power to the construction site whilst consuming considerably less fuel than their predecessors. Furthermore, the new compactors feature a modern, convenient operating platform, excellent driving and handling properties, as well as a highly efficient ECO mode that can reduce fuel consumption by up to 20%.

New Premium Compactors For India

The HC 119i and HC 119i D compactors are available in an operating weight of 11,190 kg or 11,240 kg (all weights include the protective roof in each case). All of the models are manufactured at the Wirtgen Group plant in Pune, Maharashtra. They are completely homologised and comply with the Indian laws and specifications in all details, from the engine and the lighting system, right through to their dimensions.

The Highlights of the New Hamm Compactors from the HC Series Include Simple Operation,
High Compaction Power, a Modern, Economical Engine (90 KW) with ECO Mode and Impressive Gradeability (Max. 53%)

Optimum Compaction Performance

With a drum width of 2140 mm and a large static linear load, the compactors can be used universally in inner-city projects, for compaction on motorways, airports and other large areas. The powerful Cummins engine ensures that maximum compaction force is always available, and vibration works immediately once the nominal frequency is activated. For the driver, the acceleration of the vibrating unit is imperceptible. The automatic vibration system ensures that the vibration is shut off as soon as the compactors stop moving. This prevents over-compaction and guarantees high-quality surfaces.

Clear Operation, Comfortable Workstation

From the operator’s platform on the new compactors, the driver has an excellent view of the construction site. Thanks to the design of the engine hood and the front vehicle, the driver can always keep the drum – as well as the construction site – in view. The roof, which is included as standard, protects the driver from the sun and rain. The operation is self-explanatory and does not require any special language skills. As standard, a USB socket, 12 V socket and a bottle holder are included on board. Thanks to this equipment and other details, the operator platform on the rollers is a comfortable place to work. Bright work lighting with durable LED lights rounds off the high-quality and environmentally friendly overall picture.

The Driver’s Platform on the New Hamm Hc 119i and Hc 129i Compactors, which are Produced in India, Offers Plenty of Comfort and Simple Operation

Future-Proof Engine With A Highly Efficient ECO Mode

All models are driven by a robust, water-cooled 4-cylinder engine in accordance with CEV Stage IV. The 90 kW (121 HP) power unit features two fuel filters as standard. To clean the exhaust gas, the machines are equipped with SCR and DOC. During operation, the operator can choose between three preset engine speeds. If the driver selects the average speed, the machine operates in ECO mode. This mode reduces fuel consumption by up to 20%, as well as lowering CO2 and noise emissions.

Yet, in spite of this, frequency and centrifugal force as well as full compaction power continue to be maintained. This is enabled thanks to the large-sized hydraulic components and smart control system. Furthermore, the compactors are able to be used at outside temperatures of up to 53°C thanks to the newly designed air duct and large radiator.

The Display on the Hamm Compactors isClearly Designed The Roller can be Safely Operated Without the Need for any Special Language Skills

Great Driving And Handling Properties Thanks To The Three-Point Articulation

The three-point articulation in the new compactors guarantees outstanding directional stability, impressive stability when negotiating curves, and a high level of safety against overturning. This means that the compactors deliver outstanding manoeuvrability and excellent compaction, even on uneven terrain. The compactors are driven by the rear axle. The ‘D Model’ (HC 119i D) also have a drum drive that helps it to scale gradients of up to 53% with confidence.

From the Operator Platform of the New Hamm HC Series Compactors, which have been Manufactured in India, the Operator can Always Keep the Drum – as Well as the Construction Site – in View

Numerous Options

As optional components for ICS systems, Hamm offers a speedometer for comprehensive compaction inspection and the Hamm Compaction Meter (HCM) for continuous measurement of the load-bearing capacity. In addition, the HC 119i D can also be equipped with padfoot shells. Further options are available for lighting and the operator platform.

Convenient Maintenance

The Hamm compactors from the HC series also prove to be convenient when it comes to the daily check and regular maintenance. All access points can be easily accessed as the engine hood can be opened wide in the direction of the operator platform.

Layher’s present product characteristics and services help customers achieve long-term success and increase the profitability of their companies. The Layher Allround Scaffolding has been established as a synonym for modular scaffolds on the market. The Allround Scaffolding offers unsurpassed versatility to be used in construction sites, chemical industry, power plants, aircraft, shipyards, event sector, theatres and arenas.

To make Escape Stairways Accessible from Different Points of the Building, Projecting Building Walkways at the Top Level can be Built Completely Using Standard Parts from the Allround System

Application Of Allround Scaffolding – Escape Stair Tower

Additional escape stairway structures for buildings are becoming more and more important. That includes the reinforcement of existing buildings for public use, due to altered regulations or to their being used for new purposes, model building regulations require, for greater numbers of people, a second escape route or modification to the existing one – for example for fire safety reasons. During modernization work on buildings of any type too, a second escape route may be temporarily required if the main escape route is closed due to building work. The requirements relating to dimensions for building stairways are in general governed by DIN 18065 ‘Stairs in Buildings’. Only the flight width is not clearly defined here.

Layher Emergency Escape Stair for Residential Building

Extensive modernization measures for larger and better escape routes usually gobble up lots of time and money. In some cases, modernization work by others is not even possible. The solution: escape stair towers from Layher. Taking proven Allround Scaffolding as the basis, stairway structures can be flexibly adapted to a wide range of building situations, such as exit levels – for various rises and loads, and if required with child safety guardrails. Layher escape stairways also offer a long service life: this is assured by continuously monitored and high-quality production ‘Made in Germany’, and by the high standard of surface coating on all Layher steel components by means of hot-dip galvanizing.

Application of Allround Scaffolding is suitable for Shoring, work scaffolding and stairway tower. All these needs were ideally met with only one system: Allround Scaffolding from Layher. This modular system scaffolding permits, with its bolt-free wedge-head connection technology, not only rapid assembly, but also – thanks to a comprehensive range of parts – unlimited applications, even with very difficult ground plans and anchoring conditions or with complex architecture.

To Prevent Un-Authorised Access to the Stair Tower, the Lower Exit Area of the Stairway can be Enclosed Using the Layher Protect System An Ideal Addition to this is the Protect Door Element, which can only be Opened from the Inside

For a Reduction in the Risk of Injury Allround Standards without Spigots can be Used in the Top Stairway Level – and Optionally with Tube Caps This Ensures at the Same Time an Attractive Appearance

If existing buildings fail to comply with legal requirements relating to escape routes, additional measures are needed for the latter. They can be provided economically and quickly using escape stair towers made using the Layher Allround Scaffolding construction kit.

Every requirement on a site can be met economically using the Allround construction kit – whether it’s connecting up large shoring structures using Allround ledgers and diagonal braces, adapting to different geometries, or adding work levels and stairway towers.

Layher Allround Scaffolding Systems is performing like All-rounder.
