Since August 2021, Hamm has supplied new compactor models from the HC series to the Indian market. The machines, weighing 11t, are available with or without a drum drive. All machines fulfil the requirements of the CEV Stage IV. At 90 kW (121 HP), they bring plenty of power to the construction site whilst consuming considerably less fuel than their predecessors. Furthermore, the new compactors feature a modern, convenient operating platform, excellent driving and handling properties, as well as a highly efficient ECO mode that can reduce fuel consumption by up to 20%.

 

New Premium Compactors For India

The HC 119i and HC 119i D compactors are available in an operating weight of 11,190 kg or 11,240 kg (all weights include the protective roof in each case). All of the models are manufactured at the Wirtgen Group plant in Pune, Maharashtra. They are completely homologised and comply with the Indian laws and specifications in all details, from the engine and the lighting system, right through to their dimensions.

Optimum Compaction Performance

With a drum width of 2140 mm and a large static linear load, the compactors can be used universally in inner-city projects, for compaction on motorways, airports and other large areas. The powerful Cummins engine ensures that maximum compaction force is always available, and vibration works immediately once the nominal frequency is activated. For the driver, the acceleration of the vibrating unit is imperceptible. The automatic vibration system ensures that the vibration is shut off as soon as the compactors stop moving. This prevents over-compaction and guarantees high-quality surfaces.

 

Clear Operation, Comfortable Workstation

From the operator’s platform on the new compactors, the driver has an excellent view of the construction site. Thanks to the design of the engine hood and the front vehicle, the driver can always keep the drum – as well as the construction site – in view. The roof, which is included as standard, protects the driver from the sun and rain. The operation is self-explanatory and does not require any special language skills. As standard, a USB socket, 12 V socket and a bottle holder are included on board. Thanks to this equipment and other details, the operator platform on the rollers is a comfortable place to work. Bright work lighting with durable LED lights rounds off the high-quality and environmentally friendly overall picture.

Future-Proof Engine With A Highly Efficient ECO Mode

All models are driven by a robust, water-cooled 4-cylinder engine in accordance with CEV Stage IV. The 90 kW (121 HP) power unit features two fuel filters as standard. To clean the exhaust gas, the machines are equipped with SCR and DOC. During operation, the operator can choose between three preset engine speeds. If the driver selects the average speed, the machine operates in ECO mode. This mode reduces fuel consumption by up to 20%, as well as lowering CO2 and noise emissions.

 

Yet, in spite of this, frequency and centrifugal force as well as full compaction power continue to be maintained. This is enabled thanks to the large-sized hydraulic components and smart control system. Furthermore, the compactors are able to be used at outside temperatures of up to 53°C thanks to the newly designed air duct and large radiator.

Great Driving And Handling Properties Thanks To The Three-Point Articulation

The three-point articulation in the new compactors guarantees outstanding directional stability, impressive stability when negotiating curves, and a high level of safety against overturning. This means that the compactors deliver outstanding manoeuvrability and excellent compaction, even on uneven terrain. The compactors are driven by the rear axle. The ‘D Model’ (HC 119i D) also have a drum drive that helps it to scale gradients of up to 53% with confidence.

Numerous Options

As optional components for ICS systems, Hamm offers a speedometer for comprehensive compaction inspection and the Hamm Compaction Meter (HCM) for continuous measurement of the load-bearing capacity. In addition, the HC 119i D can also be equipped with padfoot shells. Further options are available for lighting and the operator platform.

 

Convenient Maintenance

The Hamm compactors from the HC series also prove to be convenient when it comes to the daily check and regular maintenance. All access points can be easily accessed as the engine hood can be opened wide in the direction of the operator platform.

July 2021 saw the launch of two new Hamm tandem rollers – the HD 99i and HD 109i – in the Indian market. Both models fulfil the requirements of the CEV-Stage IV and are more fuel efficient than their predecessors. Furthermore, both models offer a modern operator’s platform and excellent driving comfort and handling properties.

Both models are manufactured at the Wirtgen Group plant in Pune, Maharashtra. They are completely homologised and comply with the Indian laws and specifications in all details, from the engine and the lighting system, right through to their dimensions.

Two New Premium Rollers For India

The HD 99i tandem roller weighs nearly 9 t, while the HD 109i weighs approx. 10 t. Both articulated double vibration rollers are powerful all-rounders for road construction. With a drum width of 1.68m, they can be used in inner-city projects, for compaction on motorways, airports and other large areas. From the operator’s platform on the new tandem rollers, the driver has an excellent view of the construction site.

The seat can be turned 45° in either direction, and the open design of the frame provides a clear view of the drums, water-sprinkling system and drum edges. The roof, which is included as standard, protects the driver from the sun and rain.

Simple Operation, Comfortable Workstation

The operation is self-explanatory and does not require any special language skills. As standard, a USB socket, 12V socket and a bottle holder are included on board. This and other details turn the operator platform on the rollers into a comfortable work station. Bright work lighting with durable LED lights rounds off the high-quality and environmentally friendly overall picture.

Sustainable And Economical Engine

Both models are driven by a robust, water-cooled 3-cylinder John Deere engine in accordance with CEV-IV. The 55kW power unit is equipped with two fuel filters as standard. A diesel particulate filter is included on board for exhaust gas cleaning. As standard, the engine is designed to be used at outside temperatures of up to 550C. This is made possible by intelligently designed air flow and a large radiator. Furthermore, Hamm offers a cold start kit for temperatures from -50C as an option.

The operators can choose between three appropriately preset engine speeds for idling, transport and compaction. As a result, sufficient power is always available in work mode in order to operate the compaction units at the suitable frequency. Compaction work is therefore always of a high quality.

All in all, the combination of a modern engine, large radiator, air flow and engine management leads to reduced noise emissions and up to 10% lower fuel consumption when compared to the predecessor models.

The three-point articulation in the new tandem rollers guarantees even weight distribution, offers outstanding directional stability, impressive stability when negotiating curves, and a high level of safety against overturning. Customisation Is Key
