Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for nine national highway projects worth Rs 14,000 crore in the state of Bihar.
The highway projects would improve connectivity in the state. They include construction of three large bridges, upgrading of highways into four lanes and six lanes.
There are five projects underway to connect East and West Bihar with four lanes and six projects underway to connect North India with South India.
Under the PM’s package, a total of 17 bridges over river Ganga are being constructed. This way, on an average, there will be a bridge over rivers in the state at every 25 km.
The projects include four-laning of 47.23 km Bakhtiyarpur-Rajauli section of NH-31 at a cost of Rs 1,149.55 crore; four-laning of 50.89 km Bakhtiyarpur-Rajauli section of NH-31 worth Rs 2,650.76 crore; four-laning of 54.53 km Ara-Mohania section of NH-30 on EPC mode at a cost of Rs 885.41 crore; and four-laning of 60.80 km Ara-Mohania section of NH-30 on EPC mode worth Rs 855.93 crore.

The Public Works Department, Assam, has invited bids for construction of a four-lane flyover in the state.
The four-lane flyover will be constructed at Mission Chariali, Tezpur Junction point of NH-52 (New NH-15) at ch 135.00 km, NH-37A at ch 24.00 and other urban arterial road in Assam under SOPD under Nagaon NH Division on engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) mode.
The estimated value of the project is Rs 273.9 crore.

JMC Projects (India), a civil engineering and EPC company, has secured new contracts of approximately Rs 1,342 crore.
The company has secured infrastructure project around Rs 725 crore. It has also bagged water supply projects totalling Rs 471 crore in Odisha and building project worth Rs 146 crore in North India.
The company has received orders exceeding Rs 5,300 crore in 2020 against initial guidance of Rs 5,000 crore. Accordingly, based on current prospects, the company is revising its order inflow target to Rs 7,500 crore for FY21.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has floated tender for development of six-lane access controlled highway in Uttarakhand.
The scope of work will be executed from Daat Kali Tunnel-Dehradun of Ganeshpur-Dehradun section of NH-72A from 16.380 km to 19.785 km (design chainage) under Bharatmala Pariyojana on EPC mode (Package-III).
The work will be completed in 24 months at a cost of Rs 142.08 crore.

Tata Projects has emerged as the lowest (L1) bidder for construction of the new Parliament building in New Delhi and is likely to be awarded the contract for the project.
The bids for the project were opened on 16 September 2020 and bids for the project finalised saw Tata Projects submit a bid for
Rs 861.90 crore while Larsen & Toubro quoted a bid of Rs 865 crore.
The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) had put a tender out for the project, which had estimated the cost to be Rs 889 crore.
The deadline for redevelopment and construction of the new Parliament building is 2022.
As per the plan, a new triangular shaped Parliament building will be constructed, while the current Parliament building will be revamped. The exterior structure of the historic building will be kept intact
