Ircon International (IRCON) has secured contract worth Rs. 900 crore from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
The company has been awarded the work of upgradation of Gurgaon-Pataudi-Rewari section of NH-352W (design length – 46.110 km) as feeder route in the state of Haryana on hybrid annuity mode (HAM).
This work will be undertaken by a special purpose vehicle which will be incorporated by IRCON as its wholly-owned subsidiary company.

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed officials to commence construction of houses under ‘Nava Rathnalu-Housing for All’ project from 25 December 2020.
A total of 15.6 lakh houses will be launched in one go. The government will distribute house sites worth Rs. 23,535 crore as they have acquired nearly 68,361 acre for the house sites scheme.
The government plans to construct around 28.3 lakh houses in the next three years, starting with 8,914 houses in each assembly segment in Phase-I. In Phase-II of the programme, 12.7 lakh houses will be launched.
All houses of 300 sq. ft will be registered in the name of beneficiaries for which they need to pay just Rs. one.

The Supreme Court has given green signal for the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Centre to acquire land for construction of 277.3 km Chennai-Krishnagiri-Salem national highway project.
The project will entail an investment of Rs. 10,000 crore.
The eight-lane highway (NH-179A and NH-179B) is part of Phase-I of the Bharatmala Pariyojana project, which stretches across 24,800 km and has an estimated outlay of Rs. 5.35 lakh crore, to improve efficiency of freight and passenger movement across the country by bridging critical infrastructure gaps.
The highway intends to cut travel time between Chennai and Salem by half.

The Northern Railway will be completing the most difficult 111 km long section of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link by December 2022 that will connect Kashmir to the rest of India through the railway network.
The work is going on in full swing. The project will be completed by the end of 2022. The 272 km railway line is being undertaken at an estimated cost of Rs. 28,000 crore by the Northern Railway.
The first section connecting Udhampur to Katra and the third section between Banihal and Baramulla have been completed with both sections operational.
The Udhampur-Katra (25 km) section, Banihal-Qazigund (18 km) section and Qazigund-Baramulla (118 km) section have already been commissioned.
The last remaining section, the 111 km Katra-Banihal section is currently under execution, and 126 km out of 174 km of tunnels on this section have already been completed.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has floated tender for Bangalore-Chennai Expressway.
The scope of work envisages construction of four lane Bangalore-Chennai Expressway from 180.000 km to 204.500 km (Walajahpet to Arakkonam Section in the state of Tamil Nadu) under Bharatmala Pariyojana on Hybrid Annuity Mode (Phase-III Package-II).
The work will be completed at a cost of Rs. 707 crore.
