Western Bays Constructors Joint Venture has secured a design-build contract for the $439m Bay Park Conveyance Project in Nassau County in the US state of New York.
The company is a joint venture between John P. Picone and Northeast Remsco Construction.
The project will reduce 19 billion gallons of treated wastewater and over 95% of the nitrogen loading to Reynolds Channel and the Western Bays each year.
By upgrading the existing wastewater management infrastructure, the project will improve water quality and storm resiliency in Long Island’s Western Bays.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said that the design-build contract will be managed by NYSDEC. The Nassau County Department of Public Works will own and operate the new facilities upon completion of the project.
