Construction firm OHL USA has been awarded a $368m design-build project to convert the South Corridor (South Dade Transitway) in Florida into a Bus Rapid Transit Project (BRT).
The scope of the project will include the conversion of 14 BRT stations to Heavy Rail Transit (HRT), refurbishment of existing stations, two terminal stations (Dadeland South and SW344th Street Station) and improvement to the transitway corridor along 20 miles of exclusive transit right‐of‐way.
It will also include two FDOT safety improvement projects, SW 168th Street Park‐and‐Ride/Garage and DTPW Construction Project.
OHL Building, a subsidiary of OHL USA, will also participate in the project. It will construct the SW 168th Street Park and Ride Garage. It will also supply architectural coordination services for the fit-outs of the stations.
