Link Alliance, a consortium led by Vinci Construction, has secured two design-build contracts about €485m for the €2.5bn City Rail Link (CRL) line project in Auckland, New Zealand.
The consortium includes Vinci Construction’s subsidiaries Vinci Construction Grands Projets and Soletanche Bachy International and other partners including Downer, WSP-Opus, Aecom and Tonkin & Taylor.
Under the first contract, the Link Alliance will be responsible for the construction of two structures (grade-separated junctions) and 2 km of new track while maintaining traffic on the North Auckland Line.
The second contract, which involves installation of power supply, overhead lines, signalling and the control system for the entire Auckland City Rail Link project.
The Package 3 involved design and construction of a 3.45 km of extension of a railway line, including 3.2 km of tunnel to connect the existing Britomart station to the existing Mount Eden station and three new stations.
