JSW Steel’s Plant To Be Ready By March 2021

The expansion of JSW Steel’s Dolvi Works plant from five million tpa to 10 million tpa is expected to be completed by the end of FY21. Located on the west coast of India at Dolvi in Maharashtra, Dolvi Works is JSW Steel’s integrated steel plant.

The company is in process to double its capacity with an investment of about Rs. 15,000 crore. The company received permission to restart activities towards the end of April 2020.

The expansion includes installing 4.5 million tpa blast furnace with supporting five million tpa Steel Melt Shop (SMS) and five million tpa Hot Strip Mill (HSM).

The plant will also have an eight million tpa pellet plant and four kilns of 600 tpd Lime Calcination Plants (LCPs), besides a captive power plant.

About 95 per cent work related to the expansion is completed. With the expansion of the Dolvi Works, JSW Steel’s total steelmaking capacity will reach to 23.1 million tpa from 18.1 million tpa at present.
