India’s first electric highway is likely to come up between Delhi and Jaipur soon as per statements issued by Mr. Nitin Gadkari who said that his ministry is already in talks with a foreign company to construct the highway between these two cities. “It is my dream to build an electric highway from Delhi to Jaipur. It is still a proposed project. We are in discussion with a foreign company,” Gadkari was quoted as saying.
Road Ministry stated that the first stretch of e-highway will likely be completed by mid-2022. Trucks and buses will be able to run on the e-highway at a speed of 120 kmph, which as per the reports, will reduce cost of logistics by 70%.
