A 1 Lohne Bramsche, a joint venture (JV) between Johann Bunte Bauunternehmung and Strabag has secured a €600m contract to widen nearly 30 km on the A1 motorway in Lower Saxony, Germany.
The function-based construction (FSB) contract was awarded by Die Autobahn GmbH des Bundes, representing the Government of Germany to widen the 30 km road stretch between Lohne/Dinklage and Bramsche.
The project is expected to begin from February 2021 and will include widening from two lanes to three lanes in each direction.
The project includes extensive earthworks and construction of carriageways. Also, 14 bridges along the motorway section and two overpasses over the motorway must also be rebuilt completely, along with the rehabilitation of 18 bridges.
