AW Edwards Wins $260m Metro Station Contract

The Government of New South Wales (NSW) has awarded a contract worth A$370m ($260m) to AW Edwards to construct Sydney Metro’s new Crows Nest Station.

When the Sydney Metro is extended from the North West in 2024, the station will be the first stop for metro services leaving Chatswood and headed towards the Sydney CBD.

The work on the contract will include the construction and fit-out of the station, installation of lifts and escalators to the new underground platforms and retail, as well as future retail opportunities at ground level along the Pacific Highway.

The contract will include footpaths, street tree planting, lighting, street furniture and new pedestrian crossings. Construction work on the new station is scheduled to commence in January 2021 with completion expected in 2023.
