Contract Awarded To Deliver $294m Great Eastern Highway Bypass Interchanges

The Government of Western Australia has selected Greater Connect consortium to deliver the A$386.5m ($294.1m) Great Eastern Highway Bypass Interchanges project.

The Greater Connect consortium includes Construction Company Laing O’Rourke, engineering firm AECOM, and Arcadis. The project forms part of a package of projects, which includes local roads and bridges in the cities of Swan and Kalamunda, along with the extension of Lloyd Street to the north and the duplication of Abernethy Road to the south.

“This project is receiving $247.25 million of funding from the Morrison Government, part of our $110 billion, ten year infrastructure pipeline.

Subject to environmental and statutory approvals, the early works on the project are likely to begin in the middle of this year with completion expected by mid-2024.
